Shung-Wern "Ben" Tsao

Shung-Wern Tsao, age 65, of West Bloomfield, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023, at his home. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Guoli Hu; his daughter, Kristina Tsao; his sister, Jennifer Tsao; and his two brothers, Jeff and Curtis Tsao; and many other loving family members and close friends.

Shung-Wern was born on March 25, 1958, in Taipei, Taiwan. He graduated from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo with a master’s degree in Computer Science and eventually became IT Deployment Manager at General Motors.

Shung-Wern greatly enjoyed bowling, paddle boarding, researching and buying new tech gadgets (such as virtual reality glasses), listening to 1960s classics, and taking the family dog Precious for walks. Shung-Wern was a wonderful, funny, and happy man who will be greatly missed.

A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road, White Lake, Michigan 48386. Shung-Wern's family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. A burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Waterford. After the burial, Shung-Wern's family extends an invitation to continue to share memories with them over a meal at Buck Shots Grill in Clarkston.
