

Billy B Oler., 81, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014 after a long and valiant fight against cancer. Oler, a Korean War veteran and Purple Heart recipient, relocated to Wichita in 1967, after working in Idaho for Westinghouse Corporation. While in Idaho, he helped to engineer some of the first nuclear submarines. He raised quarter horses and belonged to a mounted sheriff’s posse. Here in Wichita, he was a piping supervisor for Litwin Engineering and then a stockbroker for Prudential Securities. He was a past member of the T-Bird Club and restored both T-Birds and Corvettes. A talented carpenter and woodworker, he and Louise bought and sold antiques. Preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Marie Oler and a brother, Pete Oler. Survived by: loving and devoted wife, Louise Oler; daughter, Deborah (Dennis) Andra of Coral Springs, FL, son, Bart (Sondra) Oler of Wichita; sisters, Wanda Wheaton of Tulsa, OK, Dainese Wasson of Sevierville, TN; 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials can be sent to Harry Hynes Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS. Funeral Service will be held 1p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014 at Hillside Funeral Home West, 2929 W. 13th St. Wichita, KS. Burial will follow at Resthaven Garden of Memory
