

Cheryl Ann Vaughan, a beloved wife, mother, nana, sister, loving aunt and friend, passed away unexpectedly on July 4th at the age of 72. Cheryl lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a deep commitment to her family and friends. Her passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
Born on September 20th in Wichita, Kansas, Cheryl grew up surrounded by a loving family. At the young age of 19, she married the love of her life, Victor Vaughan, and together they embarked on a remarkable journey that spanned over five decades. Their enduring love and devotion were evident to all who knew them, and they recently celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary, a testament to their unwavering bond.
Cheryl and Victor were blessed with two children. Their son, Jeremy Vaughan, and his wife Katrina reside in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Cheryl's daughter, Tiffany Vaughan, held a special place in her heart, but sadly, she passed away before her time. Additionally, Cheryl and Victor raised their beloved grandson, Austin Vaughan, whom she cherished dearly and loved with all her heart.
Cheryl had a remarkable ability to bring joy and happiness to those around her. Her contagious laughter, smile, and playful spirit brightened the lives of everyone she encountered. Even in the face of life's challenges, Cheryl maintained a positive outlook and embraced every joyous moment. She cherished the time spent with her family and friends, treasuring each gathering and celebration. Her warm presence and loving nature created an atmosphere of love and togetherness that will be greatly missed.
After retiring in 2016 from her career at Cargill, Cheryl seized the opportunity to devote more time to her loved ones and pursue her passions. She had an adventurous spirit and a love for travel, creating lasting memories with friends and family along the way. Be it travel or simply enjoying the company of her loved ones, Cheryl found immense joy in these shared experiences.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Billy and Jim Baker, and her daughter Tiffany and grandson Branson, who were taken from this world too soon. She is survived by her devoted husband Victor, her son Jeremy and daughter-in-law Katrina, and her cherished grandson Austin. She is also survived by her sister Kasey Baker and numerous nephews and nieces.
A celebration of Cheryl's life will be held on Wednesday, July 12th, at 10 a.m. at Hillside Funeral Home West – 2929 W 13th Street North, Wichita, Kansas. Prior to the service, a visitation with the family will take place on Tuesday, July 11th, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the same location. The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Bkind4B non-profit foundation in honor of Cheryl's grandson Branson.
