Ernestine Johnson

Ernestine (Riddle, Forsythe) Johnson, 85, retired Internal Revenue Service, Taxpayer Service Specialist, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 5, 2026. Ernestine enjoyed singing. She sang with the Melodears and her church choirs. She also enjoyed bowling, pickle ball, and round & square dancing. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Kathrynne Riddle, husband, Carrol K. Johnson, and brother, Ellis Riddle.

She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Brown, son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Kathy Forsythe of Jacksonville, AR, stepsons, Beau (Mary) Johnson, of Denton, TX, Michael (Sarah) Brown of Oxford, NS, Canada, Steven and Douglas Brown of Wichita; stepdaughters, Melinda (Terry) Douglass of Siloam Springs, AR and Merri Brown of Wichita; grandsons, Brett, Wesley (Ashley), and Curtis Forsythe; 3 step-grandsons, 7 step-granddaughters and 11 step-great-grandchildren; brother, John (Patsy) Riddle of Wimberly, TX; sister Linda (Rick) Ebersole of Derby, KS, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Hillside Funeral Home West, located at 2929 West 13th Street North, Wichita, KS 67203. The funeral service will take place on Friday, April 10, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Country Acres Baptist Church, located at 8810 W. 10th St. N., Wichita, KS 67212. Committal will follow immediately at Mulvane Cemetery, 1601 E. 119 St. S., Mulvane, KS 67110.
