

Hugh was a simple man who loved his family, and his country. He was a United States Marine during the Korean war. He was very involved with the Shriners, and belonged to the Belle Plaine Wheat Whackers Lodge. He supported the Elpyco Church of Christ of Wichita. For the last ten years he began attending the East Waterman Church of Christ. His job as a landlord and antiques dealer, kept him very busy.
He is preceded in death by his parents Hugh and Opal; his first wife, Helen (Powell) Richards, and second wife, Neva Snell; brothers, Harold, and George; sisters, Willa, Flora, and Mary.
Hugh is survived by his daughters, Cathy Loyd, Karen Reed; grandchildren, Kasey, Dustin, Tyler, and Travis; great-grandchildren, Gage, Easton, Colt, Emersyn, Brooklyn, and Beau; brothers, Jack, and Henry; sister, Patsy, and many wonderful friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. at Hillside Funeral Home West, located at 2929 West 13th Street North, Wichita, KS 67203. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11800 W. US 54, Wichita, KS 67212.
