From the moment he entered this world, Josiah was a light a brave, beautiful soul who touched the hearts of everyone who knew him. Though his time here was short, his presence was powerful. Josiah had a way of speaking without words his eyes full of wisdom, his spirit full of peace.
He found joy in music, in soft snuggles, and in the steady comfort of his family. Every breath he took was a testament to strength. Every smile was a reminder of God’s grace. Josiah changed lives just by being himself.
Josiah is survived by his loving mama, Daiquardi McKay, and father, Kyree Givens; his baby brother, Kyren; his grandmothers, Daiquari Leyba, Holley Elleman-Miles, and Kasie McKay; his aunts, Kheley, Kennedy, and Riley; his uncles, Gage, Karson, and Mike; along with his cousins, Liyah, Niyah, Riyah, and Marcell.
He is also survived by his great-grandparents, Dari Leyba, Lutisha/John McKay, Vicki/Tim Elleman, and his great-great-grandmother, Flora Leyba. Josiah was cherished by many great-aunts, great-uncles, and dear friends who were like family and loved him deeply.
Though deeply missed, Josiah will never be forgotten. He is now reunited in Heaven with his grandfathers, Jason Rae McKay—whom he was proudly named after and Maurice Givens along with his great-grandfather, Walter Leyba.
Josiah leaves behind a family who loved him with all their hearts, who fought for him, prayed for him, and cherished every beautiful moment they shared with him.
His legacy is love. His story is strength. His memory is forever.
“Some people only walk this earth for a short time. Their departure reminds us that angels are watching over us.”
