Leslie Glenn Wise

Leslie ( Glenn ) Wise, Went to his eternal home at the age of 79 on November 25, 2021. Was born on July, 14, 1942 to Sidney Richard and Annie Otheal ( Kendrick ) Wise in Starkville, Mississippi but spent most of his life in Miami, Fla. He entered the Army in 1962 after high school and served 12 years with tours in Germany and Viet Nam. Glenn will be remembered by those he touched as a Man of God, his family, and a love for people and his country.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother William Richard and an infant sister. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Jo Ann (Vansel ) Wise, 2 sons Kevin ( Robyn ) Wise of Kearney, Nebraska, Keith ( Joyce) Wise of Wichita, Kansas: 2 daughters Treasure Smiley of Lincoln, Nebraska and Shelley ( Thomas ) Richardson of Wichita, Kansas. Blessed with 10 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren.

After his discharge from Army in 1974 went on to fulfill his calling into the ministry by attending Northwest Bible College in Minot, North Dakota with a BA degree. After graduating in 1978 attended Church of God Theological Seminary in Cleveland, TN with a BS degree. after graduating from Seminary in 1979 went into fulltime ministry with pastoring in North Dakota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri became an Ordained Bishop with the church of God in 1989. Because of failing health retired in May 2013 to Wichita, Ks with dedicating 39 years preaching the Word of God. Glenn was an Avid Reader, loved his family dearly, Gospel Music and he loved to tell stories, and most of all was a devoted husband, father, grandfather who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be Thursday December 9, 2021 from 4-7 pm at Hillside Funeral Home, 2929 W 13th Wichita, KS. Funeral service will be 10:00 am on December 10th, 2021 at Mt. Vernon Church of God, 3115 E. Mt. Vernon, Wichita, KS. Burial will be at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery, Winfield, KS.
