Michael Carman Tolle, known to friends and family as Mike, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 82. He was born on June 15, 1942, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Clarence and Katherine Tolle.
Mike grew up in Kansas City and graduated from Paseo High School in 1960. In 1969, he married the love of his life, Ruth, in Kansas City, and they built a life together filled with love, faith, and devotion to family.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years, where he developed his skills in electronics. His expertise led him to a long and fulfilling career. He began working for American Optical in Kansas City and then moving to Wichita, he worked at Wesley Hospital and Learjet before starting his own upholstery business. Later, he went on to work as a Biomedical Electronic Technician at Hutchinson Hospital, where he spent 25 years repairing and maintaining medical equipment, ensuring the safety and well-being of countless patients.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mike had a passion for computers, electronics, golf, and classic Westerns. He was known for his quick wit and playful teasing, always bringing laughter to those around him. Though he loved to joke, his kindness, empathy, and deep spiritual strength were evident to all who knew him.
In 1972 Mike and Ruth were baptized as Jehovah’s Witnesses, dedicating their lives to sharing their faith and helping others learn more about the Bible. Mike served for many years as an elder in the Christian congregation, teaching, encouraging, and providing spiritual guidance to his brothers and sisters. He humbly served on the Hospital Liaison Committee, having the opportunity to support fellow Jehovah’s Witnesses in medical emergencies and assisting doctors in finding alternatives to blood transfusions. His dedication to his faith and his community was unwavering.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Ruth Tolle; his son, Sean Tolle (Anjilee); his daughter, Marita Magyarvari (Andy); and his cherished grandchildren: Isaak Tolle, Roman Tolle (Channing), Gianna Nissen (Malte), Christian Magyarvari, Ian Magyarvari, and Kailey Magyarvari. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Katherine, and his sister, Joan Basile.
