

He was born in Chicago, IL on August 20, 1929, the son of Salvatore and Sophie Bono.
Pete grew up in Chicago and moved to Wichita in the late 60's.
He earned several trade school certificates but enjoyed being a locksmith and an electrician the most. He was the proud owner of Pete's Service Shop for many years.
He served his country in the United States Army on three different occasions covering a total of 12 years which included 1 1/2 years in the Korean War.
Pete was a devoted member of the Rosehill Christian Church.
His work was also his hobby although he used his skills at his church working on audio equipment, lighting for the Christmas programs and other jobs that would come up. He was always one of the first at church on Sundays and would have the coffee and donuts ready when people would start arriving.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, his son Sam Bono, his brother Nat Bono and sister Zina Loma and her husband Jesse.
Surviving family members include his children Steven Bono (Patricia), Cheryl Denise Wood (Bruce), Becky Bono-Gerstner (Cristal). His adopted children Misty Chenoweth (Eric), Victor Bono (Tammy), and Veronica Bono. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
