

Douglas Hickox, known to friends as “Hoomer”, resident of Southington, previous resident of the towns of Morris, Wolcott, and Winchester, passed away on January 31, 2022. He was 59 years old. Born in Waterbury, he was the sun of Linda (Adamson) and the late Thomas Hickox Jr. Throughout his life, he worked as a tin knocker and performed countless hours of community service with the Wolcott Volunteer Ambulance, Wolcott Fire Dept. Company #3, the Morris Fire Dept., Campion Ambulance, and the Morris Ambulance Company. He enjoyed fishing, sailing, and everything outdoors. He loved music and played with various friends over the years. He will be remembered for his coarse sense of humor, loyalty, love and unparalleled bad timing. He is survived By Kayla Hickox (Daughter), Skylar Hickox-Young (Granddaughter), his mother Linda (Adamson) Hickox, a sister Debra (Hickox) St. Pierre, two brothers, Jeffrey Hickox and Gregory Hickox, future son in law James Daniels, and his nieces Sonia Remesch and Alexandria (Remesch) Talley. He was predeceased by his father Thomas Hickox Jr. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Please contact the family directly for information.
