

Born on November 2, 1932, in Waterbury, to the late Joseph Ralph Mango and Mildred (Martone). Joseph lived a life marked by deep devotion to his family, faith and community.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Iris (Gavronsky) Mango; his son, Joseph Mango Jr., and his wife Crista, his daughter, Dyann Mango and his cherished grandson, Maxwell Mango, who brought him immense pride and joy.
Joseph was a man of strong faith and lifelong dedication to public service. He was an active member of the Republican Town Committee for several years and served with distinction as Chairman of the Wolcott Board of Education for many years, reflecting his deep commitment to education and his community. Professionally, he enjoyed a long and successful career with Blue Cross Blue Shield, where he served as Director of Sales.
In his personal life, Joseph found joy in many passions. He was an avid bowler, participating in several leagues and enjoyed golfing whenever he could. A talented pianist, he took great pleasure in playing the piano. He and Iris treasured their annual trips to Florida and loved traveling extensively with their family, creating memories that will be forever cherished.
A devoted sports fan, Joseph enthusiastically followed the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. Above all, he will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a man whose integrity, warmth and generosity touched all who knew him.
“Big Joe” will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
