Born April 25, 1943, in Waterbury, he was the son of the late Mario and Louise (Giordano) Ventresca.
He is survived by his three loving daughters, Krista Dube and her husband Mike of Wolcott, Wendy Ventresca and her fiancé Rocky of Gainesville, GA and Tammy Coppola of Seymour; three grandchildren, Kyle Pattison and his wife Megan, Tori Barnum and her husband Sam and Jason Coppola; two great grandchildren, Kashton Pattison and Sienna Barnum; sister in law Frances Ventresca of Waterbury; 2 nephews, Robert (Bobby) Ventresca of Waterbury, Kenneth Ventresca and his wife Lisa of Pennsylvania a niece Lisa Harrison Carter and several aunts and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Robert M. Ventresca.
Rich graduated from Crosby High School in 1961 and he graduated from Post College. His professional career began at Colonial Bank in Waterbury. He held positions with Burroughs and ACI. He was a long-time employee of Quality Data Service also in Waterbury, where he served as Director of Marketing.
Rich served honorably as a sergeant in the Army National Guard from 1965-1971 and as an Army Reservist.
Rich was an avid sports fan; his love of all thing’s sports began with the NY Rangers. He was a loyal NY Yankees and UCONN Women’s basketball fan. In his later years he was a formidable and competitive cornhole and ladder ball champion, beating his much younger family members.
Rich enjoyed his trips to the casinos, beaches, and traveling with his family, but most special to him were the fits of laughter that naturally occurred during times spent with his family.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023 at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 690 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Calling hours will be prior to the service from 9-11 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury.
