Four years after being diagnosed with a rare brain degenerative condition called Progressive Supra Nuclear Palsy (PSP), Arthur Porter died peacefully at his home in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was 97 years old. He lived a full, dedicated respectable life.
Arthur was born in Port-of-Spain Trinidad & Tobago on September 17th, 1923. He had been married to his lovely wife Stella for 72 years when she passed away in 2017.
After undergoing a wonderful conversion experience in the late 1990s, Arthur and Stella practiced their Catholic faith to the end as members of Queen of The Apostles Catholic Church in West Palm Beach.
Arthur, who did not complete elementary school in Trinidad, earned a Bachelor Degree in Accounting from Lehman College of CUNY, Bronx, NY at age 55, while working full-time. Following this, he was employed as an accountant at a Wall Street Firm.
At home Arthur instilled in his children a thirst for education in addition to strong values of honesty, hard work and perseverance. He was an attentive husband and a stern and caring father who provided everything the family needed. He participated in parent-teachers association and was once president of the association at the elementary school attended by his two sons
He was the father of four: Michael, Sandra, Ayleen and the late Anthony who passed away in 2019. He had 8 grandchildren and 4 great
grandchildren.
He was greatly loved and will be missed by all family and friends. May he rest in peace.
