It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hideko Davis on Thursday, March 25, 2021 after a hard fought battle with a month-long illness. Beloved wife of Kenneth for 50 years, Hideko left behind a loving family including her children Philip, Edward, Victoria and her daughter-in-law Sarah. She was well-loved in every space that she was a part of, especially her workplace of 40 years, Manulife. This was where some of her fondest memories were held. She was especially proud of her kids joining in her "legacy" as employees of the same company. She was an inspiration to us all to never give up. From her early years in post-WWII Okinawa, to her challenges of immigrating to Canada with only a few hundred dollars, and almost no English, in the late 1960's, until this last battle. She was the example of what perseverance through the challenges meant. Some of her passions and interests included cooking, and taking cooking classes at George Brown; and the family trips to Niagara Falls and cottage country. She also made regular trips back home to Okinawa to reconnect with friends and family in the last 10 years. The family wishes to greatly thank everyone who knew and befriended Hideko over the years. It is because of you that she felt loved in all aspects of her life.
The memorial service to celebrate the life of Hideko will be online on Wednesday, May 19th, 2021 at 10:00am.
