Brenda was born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1946. She was one of six children born to Sarah and Lewis Gann Jr. Brenda met and married Doug and soon after, found herself mom to four bundles of joy. Brenda was always a caretaker. As a teenager, she would look after her five siblings while her mother and father worked. In 1973, Brenda and Doug moved to Arlington, Texas, not knowing anyone. Brenda was a stay at home mom for most of her life, as, four kids kept her pretty busy. Brenda worked outside of the home from time to time and was never afraid of hard work. She got a job at the Naval Base in Grand Prairie working in the commissary. When the base closed down, Brenda became a stay at home mom, once again. At the age of 40, Brenda was blessed to become a grandmother, or as everyone knew her, Nanny. In 1997, shortly after she became widowed, Brenda went back to work outside of the home. She worked at Target, then, Ross for almost ten years. In 2008, Brenda retired to move her mother from Alabama to Texas. Once again, Brenda became a full-time caregiver. Brenda’s family meant everything to her. For anyone who knew Brenda, you knew that she loved her family beyond measure. She loved country music, line dancing, a good CC and Seven, and Alabama football. Roll Tide! Brenda had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. If you entered her home, you became family. Brenda will be laid to rest next to her husband at Moore Memorial Gardens.
