She lived in Childress for 17 years before moving to Lakewood, CO. She attended Alameda high school where she met Ned, a sophomore at cross town rival Mountair in 1953. They dated two years, graduated, and got married on December 10, 1955 at Mountair Christian church. They celebrated their honeymoon in nearby Colorado Springs before moving into their first home in Lakewood.
They started their family on October 9, 1957 when Lois gave birth to Judy. Soon after she gave birth to Cindy, June 16, 1959, and Stephanie, born March 11, 1966.
Lois was a dedicated home maker and loved taking care of all her family. As the kids grew, she filled her time with a few part time jobs including stints at Villa Italia Mall, Southwest Plaza and the Denver Nuggets. She even got a taste of running her own businesses both as a drapery installer with Ned and later as a thrift store owner. The same thrift store years later became a small neighborhood church where Lois rekindled her relationship with Jesus Christ. She was later baptized on the very ground we are celebrating her life today.
Lois loved her family and cherished spending time with everyone on an individual basis or at large family functions. Holidays and birthdays were always a little more special when Lois was involved.
She is survived by Ned, her husband of 65 years, three daughters, Judy, Cindy and Stephanie and their husbands, Grady, Gary and Dan. Six grandchildren and their spouses, Sarah and Dan, Eric and Anya, Tiffany and Mark, Tyler and Shannon, Taylor and Matt, and Payton and Andrew, and 9 great grandchildren, Landon, Sienna, Gracie, Avery, Theodore, Levi, Lilly, Luke, and Scarlett.
We love you Lois. Rest In Peace.
