

A family-and-friends gathering to reflect on the life and passing of Delores will be held at her Summerplace home at 5:00 pm on Sunday, October 9. All will be welcome - please contact Delores' sons Rick, Ron, or Steve for directions.
Delores passed away in Portland July 18, 2022 after a brief illness. She was 85
Delores was born in Davenport, New York to Clement and Nellie Hawver in 1937. At an early age the family moved to Hawthorne , Ca when her father went to work in the aircraft industry. She was in the first graduating class of Hawthorn High School.
She met her husband Bill there on a blind date with friends and they were married in October of 1955. In 1967, Delores and Bill along with their sons, moved to Portland to help with her parents rental business. They bought the modest business and over five decades it has expanded into a fourth generation family business, Portland Rent All and The Party Place. The Manning’s retired in 1990 after turning over the business to their three sons.
Together they enjoyed their retirement years living and boating on the Columbia River and traveling with friends around the world. Bill and Delores spent their time between homes in Portland and Kailua-Kona Hawaii.
Dolores was a member of the Cousins of the Hulihe’e Palace In Kailua-Kona where she enjoyed volunteering managing the gift shop and helping with fund raising. She was active in the Elks, P.O.E and enjoyed helping staff at the Kona Hawaiian Quilt Museum and Gallery.
It was at her home in Hawaii where her love of plants and gardening flourished. In addition to a variety of palms, there were flowering fragrant tropical plants, vegetables, fruit trees including limes, lemons, grapefruit, mangoes, star fruit and bananas. She enjoyed growing lilikoi and serving guests a tropical lilikoi martini upon their visit.
Delores was proceeded in death by her husband Bill.
She is survived by sons, Rick (Judy) Manning of Damascus OR, Ron (Debby) Manning of Washougal WA and Steve (Peggy) Manning of West Linn OR: seven grandchildren, two great grandsons, a sister Nancy Hawver of Portland along with many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her memory to her and Bills favorite Sunday morning tradition with friends and family.
