David Lynn Hubbard, age 86, of Tomball, Texas, passed away on February 21, 2025. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on October 4, 1938, David was the beloved husband of Joy Hubbard, with whom he shared 63 wonderful years of marriage.
David graduated from the University of Tulsa with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting Management and was an active member of the university’s marching band. His achievements in academics and the arts were complemented by his service to his country as a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Air Force, a testament to his dedication, discipline, and patriotism.
Throughout his life, David lived in many different cities but always found a church to call home. In each community, he engaged with unwavering dedication, including serving as a deacon. When David and Joy moved to Tomball, Texas, they became members of the First Baptist Church of Tomball, where he continued his service to his faith and his community. He was a man of strong principles and was deeply respected by all who knew him.
David is survived by his wife, Joy; his sons, Michael and Douglas Hubbard (wife Julie Hubbard); and his cherished grandchildren, Lauren Ogrodowicz and McKenna Brockman. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Brooke and Rylie Ogrodowicz and Bennett Brockman. His family will forever cherish the memories they shared together, including countless family game nights filled with laughter, strolls around the neighborhood with the dogs, and Sundays spent cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at American Heritage Funeral Home, located at 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive in Houston, Texas. A committal service will follow at 1:30 p.m. The general public is invited to pay their respects, with visitation starting at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Tomball in David’s memory. David will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
