Nicholas Allocco, 71, of BerkeleyTwp., died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Morristown, he was raised and lived in Summit before moving to Berkeley Twp. six years ago. Mr. Allocco was a batch mixer with Con-Agra, Cranbury for 30 years before retiring five years ago. After he retired, he worked for a year at Favorites OTB, Toms River. He was a Korean War Army veteran and was a member of the Italian-American Club of South Plainfield.He is survived by his wife, Michele; four children and their spouses, Mary Allocco and Bruce Bickar, Nick and Liz, Alden and Ynes, and Jacki and Trevor Jones; 10 grandchildren, Rob, Josh, Erica, Rebecca, Hannah, Brittany, Taylor, Trevor, Luke, and Isabel; and two brothers, Salvatore and James. He is also survived by his dog, Sammy Joe.A memorial gathering will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River. Cremation is private.
