

Edgar Don Davis, lovingly known as Edd, joined his Father in Heaven on Friday, August 3, 2012, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 77. Edd was born in Nocona, Texas, on July 26, 1935. He had six brothers and one sister. He married Betty Lou Ward on November 22, 1952 in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Edd was full of life and had a profound impact on all who knew him. He was an immensely talented man, who excelled at everything he did. Edd worked as a brilliant engineer, developing waterworks valve technologies that are used around the world. His innovative solutions to complex problems and ability to work with everyone throughout his field were unparalleled. He was a skilled craftsman, outdoorsman, and scholar who took every opportunity to share his knowledge with anyone who had the privilege to sit at his feet. Above all, Edd loved the lord and served him daily. He was a member of the Southeast Church of Christ for 42 years, and earnestly served his church family as an elder for many years. Edd was known by many names, including husband, father, PawPaw, brother, friend, mentor, leader, comedian, bible teacher, elder, and story teller.
Edd is survived by his loving wife, Betty, of 59 years. He is also survived by his brother Bill, sister-in-law Mary, brother Horace, sister-in-law Norma, many nieces and nephews, and numerous adopted grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his sons, Don and Douglas Ray Davis. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Carlton, Alton, JB, Ritter, and his sister, Dorothy Wright.
