He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on Christmas Day in 1928 to the late Otto and Grace Radtke. He graduated with a BS from Ohio University and was a mechanical engineer with Dayton Superior. Donald was married to his loving wife, Barbara B. Radtke for 60 years until her passing in 2013. He is also preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Nail.
Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Cynthia Jeanne (Mark) Houck and Susan Lynne (Wayne) Clark; his son, Donald Otto (Jenny) Radtke, Jr.; seven grandchildren, Chris Houck; Jessica Houck; Julie Foster; Michael Nail; Lori Gardner; Brian Nail; and Ireland Radtke; and six great-grandchildren, Aslan Foster; Josiah Foster; Charles Gardner III; Ellie Gardner; Hailey Houck; and Hudson Houck.
Donald was a long time member of Riverchase United Methodist Church, a Mason, and a member of Chace Lake Country Club where he enjoyed playing golf. Donald and his wife, Barbara, were also members of a gourmet club.
There will be a graveside service held at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, AL on Monday, June 29, 2020 at 1:00 pm.
