Allen Richard Holtz, 77, was born April 28, 1949, to Walter “Peck” and Clara (Romanowski) Holtz in Jackson, Michigan. He died on October 11, 2026, at his home on the family farm he has lived on since he was five years old.
On June 29, 1968, he married Sally Elston and they were able to enjoy over 58 years together. He hunted and farmed this land while raising Hereford cattle until he physically couldn’t. He was an avid outdoorsman that had an appreciation for every season. It meant the world to him to be able to raise his children on the same farm he was raised on and carry on so many traditions.
He started his career at Permabilt in Marshall, Michigan at a young age. There he became a skilled carpenter, a semi-driver delivering materials all over the state of Michigan, and eventually retired as Plant Manager. Building homes and farming were his passions. He was also a proud lifetime member of the NRA.
He and Sally loved to travel to the U.P. and especially, Tennessee. He would have considered Tennessee his second home if he could have convinced his daughter to buy a place there.
Family was everything to him and he leaves behind his wife, Sally, his son, Jeff Holtz of Albion, MI, his daughter, Jennifer (Dale) Collins of Marshall, MI, and his brother, Doug (Jan) Holtz of Carmel, IN.
He would often say, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the Heaven…” (Ecc. 3:1)
