Barbara Jean Cascarelli

Barbara Jean Cascarelli, age 80, passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 17, 2026, in Fleming Island, Florida. Born May 24, 1946, in Albion, Michigan, Barbara was the daughter of Frank and Helen (Berkheimer) Cascarelli, who both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Cascarelli.

Barbara will be remembered as a devoted presence in the lives of those she loved—steady in her care, gentle in spirit, and kind-hearted in the way she made family feel cherished and close. More than anything, she loved her family, especially her grandkids, and time spent together brought her the greatest joy.

She also found happiness in the everyday things that made life bright: getting tattoos, listening to music, following NBA basketball and boxing, watching movies, especially Westerns and the movie Twilight, enjoying Lily of the Valley and Poppies and her favorite Holiday, Valentine’s Day. These simple pleasures, shared with others or savored quietly, reflected the warmth and tenderness she carried through life.

Barbara is survived by her three children: daughters, Lisa Cascarelli and Shannon Dawson, and son, Mike Spiekermann; eight grandchildren: Alexa Levandowski, Isabella (J.T.) Pacilio, Summer Dawson, Maya Dawson, Sophia Dawson, Savannah Dawson, Lillian Spiekermann, and Sebastian Spiekermann. She is also survived by her siblings, Helen Marie Welburn and Christine Cascarelli, as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A service to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026 at 12 Noon at J. Kevin Tidd funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion, MI. She will be laid to rest in the Mausoleum at Albion Memory Gardens.
