His family moved to their family farm when Gary was 3 years old and even after his parents passed away, he continued to farm the land in his free time throughout his whole life. Gary, a class of 1974 Marshall High School graduate, worked at St. Regis Paper Mill in Marshall, Michigan until 2001 then went on to work at Michigan Carton in the front-end printing department in Battle Creek, Michigan until his retirement.
Gary will be remembered as the kind of person whose presence people felt - steady, genuine, and real.
He found joy in simple, meaningful pleasures: camping, friends stopping by and visiting, and spending time with family. In these ordinary gatherings, Gary’s happiness shone through - welcoming, sincere, and shared freely with those around him.
He is survived by the love of his life of 40 years, Carol Covey; son, Matthew Covey, granddaughter, Madison Covey; nieces, Wendy (Butch) Hedges and Karen (Rick) Adair; brothers, Ken Holibaugh, Keith (Marilyn) Holibaugh and Roger Holibaugh.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Roberta Holibaugh and sister, Cathy Engblom.
