Kenneth Leroy Scott Sr. peacefully transitioned from this life on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Intersect Healthcare of Jackson in Jackson, Michigan. Though his time here on earth has come to an end the love he shared the memories he created and the lives he touched will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Kenneth was born on September 29, 1959, in Albion, Michigan, to Tiny Thomas (Eddie Scott) and Leo Smith of Albion, Michigan.
Kenneth attended Albion Public Schools. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was listening to his favorite music, spending time talking and laughing with family and friends, or admiring cars. It was often the little moments that meant the most to him, especially when he was surrounded by the people who held a special place in his heart. Those everyday moments, conversations, and memories will forever be treasured by the ones who shared them with him.
Kenneth leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories, a family forever connected by love, and a legacy that will continue to live on long after his earthly journey has ended. Though saying goodbye is never easy, the love he gave and the memories he leaves behind will serve as a reminder that a life can end, but the love shared throughout that life never truly dies.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory his children, son, Kenneth Scott, Jr. (Bernice Scott) of Albion, Michigan, daughter, Alecia Scott of Battle Creek, Michigan and son, Adrian Scott of Albion, Michigan; and his special daughters, Shabria Upton of Lansing, Michigan, Amy Wilson and Alisha Wilson of Albion, Michigan. He also leaves his special sons, Tommy Uplants of Lansing, Michigan; Raymond Scott (Heather Scott) of Albion, Michigan; and Walter Stokes of Battle Creek, Michigan. Each of them holds a place in his story, and each will carry their own memories of Kenneth in their hearts.
Kenneth's love and family legacy also live on through his beloved grandchildren, Ja’Veon Nelson, Ja’Tavion Gray, Raynard McNeil Jr., and Rayvon McNeil, all of Battle Creek, Michigan. They will forever be a part of the legacy he leaves behind, carrying forward the memories and family bonds that will continue through generations.
He also leaves to cherish his memory his siblings: Eddie Mae Brewer, Darlene Scott, and Freddie Scott of Albion, Michigan; Lee Caldwell of Battle Creek, Michigan; Connie Williams (Ervin) of Battle Creek, Michigan; Yolandra Sutter; Marlin Jones (Connie); Ivan Jones of Battle Creek, Michigan; Theresa Scott of Lansing, Michigan; and Angela Griffin of Lansing, Michigan. He also leaves his special friend, Crystal Price, along with extended family members and dear friends who will continue to hold his memory close.
Preceding him in death were his mother, Tiny Thomas; his father, Leo Smith; his son, Tyris Scott; his daughter, Andrea Scott; his maternal and paternal grandparents; his brothers, Willie, Eddie Scott, Climmie T. Scott, Rosevelt Scott, Stanley Smith, and Leo Smith Jr.; and his sisters, Clementine Smith and Christine Smith.
Though Kenneth has now reunited with loved ones who went before him, his passing leaves a space that can never truly be filled. The pain of losing someone we love is a reflection of the place they held in our hearts. There will be moments when a familiar song brings back a memory, when a conversation is remembered with a smile, or when the thought of him brings both tears and gratitude for the time shared. In those moments, his presence will be felt in a different way, through the memories that remain and the love that time can never erase.
Kenneth will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. While his earthly journey has ended, his story does not end here. It lives on through his children, grandchildren, siblings, loved ones, and all those who will continue to speak his name, share his stories, and remember the moments that made him who he was.
As we say our final goodbyes, may his family find comfort in knowing that the love they shared with Kenneth will always be theirs to keep. May the memories bring peace in moments of sorrow, strength in moments of weakness, and comfort on the days when his absence is felt the most.
Rest peacefully, Kenneth Leroy Scott Sr. Your journey here may be complete, but your memory will live on forever. You will always be loved, forever missed, and never forgotten. 🕊️
Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. Loved beyond words, missed beyond measure, and remembered for a lifetime.
