Larry graduated from Albion Senior High School. He went on to work as a Licensed Engineer Journeyman. He worked for Boeing in his youth, building B1 bomber planes before he started working at MACI, where he dedicated over 20 years as a Die Maintenance Journeyman.
He loved hunting and fishing in his youth. He took his children, family, and friends on many deer hunting and fishing trips over the years. He was a real outdoors man. When he lived on Cooper Street in Albion, he would go salmon fishing once a year and share the large salmon with his neighbors. He took pleasure in fixing things. He passed his talents for fixing things to his children and taught this son, Larry Bonner, how to fix cars and repair homes. He taught his daughters to be independent and gave them skills to help them fix things around their own homes. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
