

Leonard Martin Boyd “Martin” age 71 of Albion passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023 at his home under the loving care of his family and Gentiva Hospice. He was born June 14, 1951 in Mercedes, TX the son of William Leonard and Betty Lou (Stice) Boyd. Martin was preceded in death by both parents; his father in 2003 and mother in 2012.
Martin served our country honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1969-1972. He was employed most of his working life as a surveyor for Exxon Mobil but also worked at Starr Commonwealth for 5 years and was employed as an Assessor for Albion and Marshall areas for some time. On December 28, 1988, Martin was united in marriage to Carolyn (Ellenwood) Tewell in Weslaco, Texas and she survives.
Martin enjoyed reading a lot before becoming interested in tech and computers and exploring his genealogy online through ancestry.com. He also enjoyed family get-togethers and bee keeping as well as his late dog companion, Iggy who sadly preceded him in death.
In addition to his loving wife of 34 years, Carolyn, Martin is also survived by son: Charles Boyd and step-son, Douglas Tewell; sister, Sandra (Charles “Chip”) Sparrow and brother, Andrew (Debbie) Boyd.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Reclamation Church and Community Center, 1014 Maple St., Albion, MI. on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 11:00 A.M.
