Mildred E. Harrison (Reed) was born March 6th, 1925, in Lee Township, Calhoun County, the daughter of Ray and Altha (Sine) Reed. She passed away on September 10th, 2026, in her home in the loving care of her children, Gary and Sue.
Mildred graduated from Albion High School in 1943. She worked in Marshall for County Agent B.E. Henry then met her husband, Wayne C. Harrison, at a local barn dance and they married April 23rd, 1949. She then worked at local elevators for Robert Thompson Elevator and later for James Bramble of Albion Elevator before becoming a homemaker. She was involved with South Albion Modern Home Ec., was a 4-H leader, school board of county school and Albion First United Methodist Church where she helped with many activities over the years.
Wayne preceded Mildred in death on May 30, 2004, after 55 years of marriage. Mildred was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Kay Ann and a sister, Virgie Rosenau.
Surviving are a son, Gary and daughter, Sue Robinson (Richard), two grandchildren, Justin Robinson (Samantha) and Tyler Robinson (Patty) and three great-grandchildren, Parker Robinson, Grady Robinson and Braxton Robinson, one brother, Raymond Reed (Vickie).
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Albion First United Methodist Church, Wesley Chapel, 600 E. Michigan Ave., Albion, MI. A visitation will take place from 10:00AM – 11:30AM with the memorial service to follow. The family would like to invite guests to join them for a luncheon at the church following services in Tennant Hall.
