Barbara Ann Judson went to sleep in the arms of Jesus on Saturday, August 13, at her home in Ames, Iowa, as she had desired to, at the age of 89. A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 19, at Gilbert Cemetery in Gilbert, Iowa.
Barbara was born on February 9, 1933, in Mobile, Alabama. Her parents were Leslie and Laura Andress. She spent her youth on Snead's Island, near Palmetto, Florida, with her grandmother, Mattie Andress. She attended Manatee County Schools through high school. After that, she attended the Florida Sanitarium and Hospital School of Nursing. She remained in nursing for 40 years.
Barbara was preceded in death by her brothers, Terry and Lawrence Andress, and her sister, Dorothy Hudnall, and half-sister Corine, as well as her son, Richard James Judson Jr. She is survived by her husband, Richard Judson Sr. of Ames, her daughter, Barbara (Norman) Miller of Boone; four grandchildren, Amber (Chris) Bower, Andrew Miller, Abigail Judson, and Ashton Miller; two brothers, Howard and Noel Andress and sister, Helen.
