To Jay's family,

I want you all to know how sad I am to hear of Jay's passing. Jay was like a brother to me as Molly's best friend growing up and I have hundreds of wonderful memories including him helping me with physics class and the big scar in my shin from Jay's ice skate.

Its been wonderful that our parents became great friends. Deb, Brian, Kate, Joe & Zeta, Molly, Troy and your families are in my prayers.

Jay will be missed by so many!

My prayers and condolences go out to Deb Shannan and her family, Joe and Zeta Shannan, Molly Christensen, and Troy Shannan on the loss of Jay. I was in Jay's class at West Burlington Schools. He made the world a better place, and that says a lot about his character. You will be missed Jay!! Lori Osborn-Rosenberg

Our Thoughts and Prayers are with Jay and the entire Shannan Family. I work with Troy and we discussed many times how Jay was doing. I lost my brother to cancer as well this past year, and Troy and Amie were so supportive.

To Jay's family - Want you to know you're in our thoughts and prayers. Got to know Jay when we coached little girls' softball together many years ago. Jay was more interested in developing EVERY player and making each little girl feel special than in winning games. We will miss Jay very much. You're blessed to have had such a wonderful father/husband/brother/son!
