

Judith “Judi” Kay Charlson, age 80, of Ames, Iowa passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023. Judith Kay Charlson (Voga) was born on September 13th, 1943 to Russell James Voga and Mary Elizabeth Voga in Story City, Iowa.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at St Paul Lutheran Church, 610 15th St, Ames, IA 50010. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Homewood Cemetery, Ellsworth, Iowa following the luncheon at the church.
Judith attended Randall High School in Randall, Iowa and graduated in 1961. Two years later, she married David John Charlson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth, Iowa on July 13th, 1963. In her free time, Judith loved horses, quilting, working on projects with David, and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed movies from the Lifetime and Hallmark channel. Judith was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and sang in the Church choir, the Gourmet Club, and different women’s groups at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Judith is survived by her husband, David John Charlson, her son, Mark David Charlson, her sister-in-law, Bernice Voga, her daughter-in-law, Barbara Charlson (Nazworth), and her grandchildren, Jessica M. Charlson, Matthew D. Charlson, Ashley K. (Martin) Charlson, John Mark Charlson, Samuel Charlson, Merri (Kirk) Charlson, Christopher Monk, Steven Sharmitaro, and Angelica Panganiban. Judith was preceded in death by her parents, Russell James Voga and Mary Elizabeth Voga, her son, Kent R. Charlson, her sister, Elizabeth Beth Blaine, her brother, James Voga and her brother-in-law, William Bill Blaine.
