Kay was born on February 4, 1937, to Sanford and Fern Moklebust in McCallsburg, IA. Later, the family moved to Ames. Kay graduated from Ames High School in 1955. She married Ronald Phillip Ogden on August 10, 1957. Together, they had two children, Carol and Cindy.
She worked as a dental assistant for many years at Buck Dental Office (later known as 5th St. Dental) Kay and Ron enjoyed square dancing together with the Nevada Whirlers for many years. Later in life, they found a passion for music. The couple also played together with Home Spun Harmony. If it could make a tune, Kay could play it! This list includes the hammer dulcimer, lap dulcimer, mandolin, harmonica, banjo, autoharp, and many other instruments.
Kay is survived by her daughters, Carol (Larry) Allen of Randall, IA, and Cindy Dela Rosa of Ames, IA; grandchildren, Dean (Emilie) Mann, Kelly (Gustavo) Valerio, Cathy (Andrew) Naumann, Brandon (Shellie) Allen, and Victoria (Shane) Green; and her 14 great grandchildren. Her grandchildren were her greatest treasure. She is also survived by her very special neighbors, Willie and Wanda Martin. Kay is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; brother, Leon Moklebust; son-in-law, Roberto Dela Rosa; and her infant great granddaughter, Vivian.
To know Kay was to know you were loved and always had a friend. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word to say.
