I was lennie's best friend for 50 years. We met in Philadelphia and we traveled to New York, the Jersey shore(Atlantic City) and I read every thing he ever wrote. I was there when he married Baba, a wonderful woman he adored. We talked on the phone once a week and I will miss him greatly. I confided in him and listened to his advice though I didn't act on it as he was a little too dramatic for me.

Lennie was a dear old friend. I could listen to him tell stories for hours as he inhaled Sherman after Sherman and slurped his black coffee. Those bushy eyebrows, the devilish chuckle and the ponderous, misty glances of reverie will remain etched in my mind. May your vehement words of conviction for the truth behind Marlowe and Queen Elizabeth live on. Thank you for the many hours we shared. I wish I had more. Rest in peace my friend. Love and best wishes for Baba.... Sean Howse

Lennie was one of a kind. He was a storyteller without peer, a dapper gentleman with a wild streak, and a loyal and loving husband to his dear Baba. We here at our little Nevada, Iowa, law office will miss him barging through the door with a story to tell and a memento to share. I will miss our lunches and political discussions -- and his requests for computer help and his delight in the accomplishments of everyone he knew. Most of all, I'll miss that great big personality...and the eyebrows. Rest in peace, dear Lennie. Eventually I'll find that elusive Jewish ancestor in my family tree and we can finally be cousins, as you always predicted.
