Tyler Dean Kleinwolterink passed away on August 15, 2022 at his home. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 19 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Stevens Memorial Chapel (607 28th Street, Ames, IA 50010), followed by a Celebration of Life from 7:00-9:00 PM at Paddy’s Irish Pub (124 Welch Ave, Ames, IA 50014). A graveside service will occur Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 12:30 PM at Gilbert Cemetery, Gilbert, Iowa. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, August 20 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Christian Reformed Church (3626 Ontario Street, Ames, IA 50014).
Tyler was born to Paul and Janet Kleinwolterink on September 15, 1993 in Ames, Iowa.
Known as “TK” by his friends, he was a very social guy and had many friends. He enjoyed bartending at a number of bars and restaurants in the Des Moines area. He loved watching movies, playing soccer, and playing video games, especially Minecraft with his nephew, Antonio. Tyler also enjoyed playing Nerf guns with his nephews and nieces when visiting his family. He enjoyed tailgating at Iowa State University football games with his high school and college friends.
Tyler is survived by his father, Paul Kleinwolterink; sister, Megan (Oscar) Saldana, their children, Antonio, Lily, and Oscar, Jr.; brother, Cody (Rachel) Kleinwolterink and their children, Jaxon and Eliza; brother, Dylan Kleinwolterink (girlfriend Dalen Mueller).
He is preceded in death by his mother, Janet Kleinwolterink; his grandparents, Alvin & Florence Mastbergen, and Carl & Jeanette Kleinwolterink; and his cousin, C.J. Egdorf.
