I met Chet downtown Anoka when we first moved into Coon Rapids around 2002.  We had many talks about Karen & I attending "TEC" (Together Encountering Christ) in Little Falls/Ripley as well as being Wheats and working several TEC's.  We found out Chet, that you gave your time and skill to help out by cooking for the Retreats - I know God was smiling on you then!

We will sincerely miss your smile, your laugh, your food, but most of all your good heart Chet!  So very proud of your 5 years of sobriety, I know that had to have helped you realize the really good person you have always been.  

I'm sure God is Beholding you in His hands, and smiling.  
God Bless you and your family Chet.  We will surely miss you brother.

Chet loved my dog, and she loved him.  He had a magic touch with her, because he was the ONLY person in the world she would fetch for.  Nobody else could get her to fetch and return a ball except him.    It was always sweet seeing them together, because as far as she was concerned, his lap was the best lap in the room!

So sorry to hear of Chets passing and sympathies to his family and friends. He was such a great guy and friend. Always willing to help and was there for many times in our lives!!! Will never forget that great laugh that just made you smile!!!

My condolences to the entire Smith family, my heart goes out to all of you. Chet and I had some wild times together. See you on the other side old friend!  

To the family of Chester,
         I was informed that Chester past away. I am an old friend of his from elementary school up to Anoka Senior High. The fondest memories are from Anoka senior year as we were both in Commercial Cooking at Anoka tech. Chester when in there to learn a trade and I went to Commercial Cooking to goof off, but to anyone that went through that class, cooking and goofing off went hand in hand. It’s amazing how our individual past go. Chester one way and me another as we grew actually quite close in our senior year and into our early 20’s. Occasionally we would meet up again here and there. I am glad I got to know him. He was a lot of fun to be around. Again, I am so sorry for you loss.
