Adrian Charles Barcel, 87, of Apex, died peacefully at his home on Friday, March 30, 2012. Mr. Barcel was born in Bronx, NY on February 6, 1925 to Adrian Steven Barcelo and Margaret Emma Casson Barcelo.
He is survived by his daughter: Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Kirk and husband, Allen of Apex; sons: Stephen Barcel of Las Vegas, Tom Barcel and wife, Rose of Ft. Myers, FL, and James Barcel and wife, Judy of Coral Springs, FL; 6 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Mr. Barcel is also survived by his 98 year old sister, Marie McDermott.
His wife, Helen Ruddy Barcel, precedes him in death on January 21, 2005.
A funeral mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2012 at St. Andrew The Apostle Catholic Church, 3008 Old Raleigh Rd. Apex, NC with military honors. He will be inurned in the church columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Wake County.
