I was saddened to hear of Al’s passing. I have fond memories of my time working at Barbour Machine during my college years. Not only was Al a mentor to me, but both of you also treated me like family. Eating supper in the Barbour kitchen meant a lot to a kid who was a long way from home and not getting too many hot meals. I’ll never forget the impact Al had on my career, giving me the perfect job for a student, and then providing a contact that landed me my first engineering job. I am so glad now that I was able to stop by a few years back and visit with Al for a while. It gave me an opportunity to express my gratitude to him for all he had done for me. I will be praying for all of you during this time.

Kathy so many hearts are heavy with your loss. We don't know why somethings happen. We can't always see God's hand or understand His plan. But we do know that His love will always be a refuge for our souls. Faith tells us that it may be the end of something beautiful. But it's also the beginning of something glorious.
In time, His peace will come.
Know that you and your family are in our prayers, praying your faith gives you Comfort and Peace. Praying with you and for you.
Sending caring thoughts your way.

I have had the honor of knowing Al for over 25 years. During all that time, Al has been a generous, kind and understanding friend. Through our mutual interest in plastics design and processing, Al and I often shared ideas and personal stories. He was always someone that one could depend on to do his best to help a person with a need.
Al's presence will be sorely missed around the shop and among those who knew him both professionally and personally.
My condolences go out to loved ones and friends.
Fondest respects, Dan & Jean
