Rev. Alvin Conley Morgan of Fuquay-Varina, was born September 18, 1939 was raised in Upper Hominy, Candler, North Carolina. He stepped into Heaven on January 13, 2019, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Alvin was predeceased by his parents, James Sigrett Morgan and Hazel Roxann Morgan, two brothers, Carl Morgan and Jimmy Morgan and his sister, Francis Watts Burris.
Rev. Morgan served in the United States Air Force from 1958-1962 before graduating from Mars Hill College and then Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He pastored churches in New Bern, Roxboro, Waynesville and Brevard, North Carolina.
Alvin loved people; he was truly a people’s pastor. He also loved piddling and tinkering in his workshop.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 57 years, Priscilla Rice Morgan, a daughter, Angela Davis (Jerry), two sons, Kevin Morgan (Tanya), Jonathan Morgan (Kathy) and eight grandchildren, Adam (Jaime), Kasey, Kaitlin and Jamie Davis, Lyndsay and Meredith Morgan and SarahAnn and Ava Morgan, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother, Joe Morgan (Nadine) and sister-in-law, Juanita “Bozie” Morgan.

Our family would like express our heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers with Universal Healthcare in Fuquay-Varina for the Love, Respect and Dignity that they showed to our Husband and Father for two years and four months and to Transitions LifeCare for their kindness and service to us.
A memorial service will be held at 3pm Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Piney Mountain United Methodist Church, 14 Piney Mountain Church Rd, Candler, NC 28715. A private graveside will be held prior to the service at the church cemetery.
