Anne Meade Stockdell - Giesler

Anne Meade Stockdell – Gieslerr, Ph.D, age 46, passed away surrounded by her family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer on December 15, 2013 in Cary, NC. She was born May 23, 1967 in Richmond, VA daughter of Michael Meade Stockdell and Susan Fowble Josenhans.

Anne’s passion for literature and literacy was passed on to many of her students during her career as an English Professor. Her love of teaching and her passion for the written word inspired many of her students. Her family, friends, and many others who she met on her life’s journey will sorely miss her.

A Celebration of life service in her honor will be held on Thursday December 19, 2013 at 6:00 PM with a gathering of family and friends held one hour prior to the services at Apex Funeral Home 550 W. Williams Street Apex, NC. A reception for family and friends will be held at the Funeral Home following the services.

Anne is survived by her husband Jayson Richard Stockdell – Giesler; her daughters Abbie Leigh, Arden, and Elise all of Cary, NC. She is also survived by her parents Michael Meade Stockdell and Susan Fowble Josenhans, her brother William “Will” Stockdell and his wife Mary; sister Caroline Wilhelm and her husband Jerry; sister-in-law Heather Brooke and her husband Gregory Steven Ng. She is also survived by her niece and nephews Devin, Evelyn, Gavin and Sebastian; her mother and father-in-law Mary Christine and Larry Richard Giesler; and also her Warrior Princesses.

Anne wished that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
