Annie Leo Myatt Hammock

Mrs. Annie Leo Myatt Hammock, 96, of New Hill, died January 27, 2011. She had been a resident of Peaks Healthcare Center in Durham for the past six years. She was preceded in death by her husbands Leonard Smith and Edward Lee (Dickie) Hammock; her three brothers, Willard Myatt, Perrin Myatt, and Freeman Myatt of Willow Springs; and her two sisters, Ruby Cotton of Willow Springs and Athene Day of Walkerton, NC.

She lived in New Hill, NC for 55 years and had worked at Chatham Mills in Pittsboro, NC. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Chatham County.

Leo is survived by a son, Carlie Glenwood Smith and wife Carol of Bahama, NC; granddaughter, Carla Smith Harrison of Marvin, NC; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Truman Myatt of Willow Springs, NC; and one sister, Nonie Hawkins of Jacksonville, FL.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 2 PM at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 724 Beaver Creek Road, Apex, NC 27502, with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
