We've lost a gentle soul.  I worked with Tony at Carpenter Environmental and I'll never forget that he taught me you don't get what you don't ask for.  He was steady at every turn and a joy to be around.  I wish for peace for the family, because he was clearly a family man.  Thanks for sharing the wonderful photographs.  

Just a wonderful man to work with and a good friend with a great sense of humor.  He has left us far too soon and will be missed.

I am heartbroken to hear about Skipper's passing.  Although I haven't seen him in many years, I will always remember him as a great guy and the older brother that I wish I had.   I loved his family too.


I worked with Tony for many years and he was an incredible man.  I remember his sense of humor and his positive outlook on life.  He treated everyone so kind and everyone had great respect for him.  He will always be remembered and I pray for comfort for his loving family.  

Worked in the same building with Tony for many years, and every time I would see him, he always had a smile on his face for me, and a friendly word.  He  was such a gentle soul, a truly laid back guy - I envied that.  He handled everything with the same calm, reasonable, reassuring attitude - even emergencies, which was greatly appreciated, since that's usually where we crossed occupational paths.  He never DEmanded respect, but he certainly COmmanded it.

I hope his friends and family find comfort in their loving memories soon.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Toni’s passing. He was a warm hearted man full of passion and humor.   I enjoyed working with him and our occasional lunches with the boys . We are all deminished by the loss of such a gentle soul. May his wife and  family be consoled  by their love for  each other and and happy memories.  God bless !










Tony was always a genuinely great guy.  He would take the time to actually talk about things and was always full of interesting information.  He was a wonderful person to work for, he helped make the office feel like family, and the office was never the same after his retirement.  My condolences to his family.

The Bergen County Department of Health Services was a kinder and gentler place because  of Tony.   A sweet, caring, kind man who was always quick to flash a smile to brighten up someone’s day or extend a helping hand to someone who needed support.   He certainly earned his wings.   I pray that he soared into heaven and will wrap his loving angelic arms around his family to help them  during this time of great loss.

Heartfelt condolences to the family. Knew Tony since 1989 and shared a memory that included working for him in both the private and public sectors.  I shared many years of riding with Tony as we use to carpool from our residences in lower Hudson valley, NY to Bergen County, NJ.

May God gave patience and comfort to the grieving family.

Anthony is preceded in death by his mother, Margie DeCandia. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Victoria DeCandia; sons, Anthony Joseph (AJ) and Nicholas DeCandia; daughter, Cari DeCandia; father, Joseph DeCandia; brother, Scott DeCandia; and grandchildren, Cortland and Kensington DeCandia.
