

Aurelia Ford Cochrane was born in Saint Mary, Pennsylvania on November 4th, 1933 to the late Marion T. Ford and Leona Teresa Ford. Aurelia remained very active her whole life. She loved to help others, making particular use of her nearly 40 years experience as a Registered Nurse when any medical issue necessitated her skills. She actively participated in various activities at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church as well as the Apex Senior Center.
She loved thrift shopping, visiting with children, her weekly brunch with fellow church members and exercising with her classes at the Senior Center and especially her daily exercise sessions with Tracey McDonnell and the sweet little friends. She was a fan of Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud.
However her favorite time of year was July when her extended family gathered on the week after Independence Day for its annual reunion of their historic family property affectionately called Fri-De-Fo. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband Harry Cochrane Sr., as well as her Sister Phyllis F. Bauer and brother Marion R. Ford.
Aurelia was a 1951 graduate of Central Catholic High School in St. Marys, PA and Mount Mercy College, ow Carlow University in Pittsburg, PA with a Bachelor in Science in Nursing. She retired after a nearly 40 year career as a registered Nurse from St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY.
She is survived by her children daughters Bethann (David) Gunn and Carol Rice, sons Tim Cochrane, Mike (Julie) Cochrane, Sam Cochrane and Hank Cochrane, and grandchildren Casey Gunn and David (Gabbie) Gunn, Rachel (Eric) Bostic and Sarah (Jake) Reedy, Mac Cochrane and Robin Cochrane, Debbie Puckett, Kris Cochrane and Sam Cochrane Jr. and Olivia Cochrane. Additionally, her great grandchildren Gavyn Gunn, Elliot and Carter Bostic, Sky Reedy and Marie, Julie and Emily Cummings.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13th 2024 at Apex Funeral Home from 5PM - 7PM.
A mass will be held on Friday, June 14th 2024 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church on 725 Magdala Place, Apex, NC 27502 at 11:00 AM.
