Betty Lou Dixon, 76, of Clayton, died Friday, February 25, 2011. She was born July 13, 1934 in Washington, NC to the late Enoch Ward and Ernestine “Morris” McGahey. She was also preceded in death by her son Gary W. Dixon.
Betty Lou is survived by her husband of 58 years Horace W. “Red” Dixon; daughter Sue Kasopsky and her husband Mike of Apex, NC; son Dale Dixon and his wife Angela of Fuquay Varina, NC; brother Morris McGahey and his wife Sally of Washington, NC; daughter-in-law Carol Dixon of Wendell, NC; five grandchildren Erin Holliday, Marc Dixon, Brooks Kasopsky, Drew Dixon and David Dixon; and 4 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 27, 2011 from 2pm until 4pm at Apex Funeral Home. A funeral service celebrating Betty Lou’s life will be held in the funeral home chapel at 4pm with Rev. Phil Qualls officiating.
