She was born in Fairmont, WV, to the late William McLane, Jr. and Margaret Parks Ewing. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Ridgway.
Carolynn worked for the Wake County School System for more than 20 years.
She leaves two children, Todd and wife, Rizza, of Qatar and Kim Bolick and husband, Chip, of Holly Springs; four grandchildren, LaTosha Chaney and husband, Chris, of Texas, Keshaun Ridgway of Georgia, and Zachary and Annie Bolick of Holly Springs; one great-grandchild, E'mori March; a sister, Sally Hall; and two brothers, Bill and Mark McLane.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2016 at Apex Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Wake Chapel Memorial Gardens in Fuquay-Varina.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Duke Cancer Institute.
