The daughter of the late Leonard and Virginia Stilo, Claire was born in Plainfield, New Jersey and graduated from North Hunterdon High School. Claire then attended Towson State College and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1975 where she learned the art of jewelry making. Claire married Doug Cantwell in 1975 and spent the next 20 years as an Air Force wife and talented jeweler. Following her travels around the world with the Air Force, Claire and her husband settled down in Apex, North Carolina where she continued her career as a jeweler.
Claire is survived by her husband of 46 years; her daugher, Nichole Olbertz of Apex; son, Sean of Raleigh; sister, Andrea Daniels of Holly Springs and five beautiful grandchildren.
