Curtis Lee Goodwin, 79, of Apex, died Monday, April 8, 2019 at his home in Apex.

Curtis was born May 31, 1939 in Wake County, NC to the late Edgar and Henrietta Johnson Goodwin. He was a veteran of the US Navy and was employed as an insurance agent with Western Southern Life retiring with over 30 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, William, Cecil and Lonnie Goodwin.

Curtis is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ann Goodwin; daughter, Carol Goodwin; and grandson, William Scarth; sisters, Etta Smith (Chester) and Daisy Shepherd (Allen).

A memorial service will be held 3pm Sunday, April 14, 2019 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St., Apex, NC 27502. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Memorials may be made to Olive Chapel Baptist Church.

Curtis is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ann Goodwin; daughter, Carol Goodwin; and grandson, William Scarth; sisters, Etta Smith (Chester) and Daisy Shepherd (Allen). He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Henrietta Johnson Goodwin and brothers, William, Cecil and Lonnie Goodwin.
