

D. Earl Morris, 64, went to be with his Lord after a valiant fight against illness. A native of Wake County in the Apex/Green Level Community, he was the son of Blanche Prince Morris of Apex and the late David Herman Morris.
Lovingly called by all, “Big Earl,” “Daddy Earl,” or “Papa Earl,” he was a respected member of the community and retired from his business, S & E TV after over 40 yrs. A member of Green Level Baptist Church, he was also active in several antique car clubs locally.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Morris of the home; Mother, Blanche Morris of Apex; Brother, Dwight Morris of Apex; and Sister, Wilma Morris and Larry King of Apex; daughter, Rita Morris of Zebulon; Step-son, Kemp Jefferson of Apex; Step-daughter, Alisha Holmes of Durham; Step-grandchildren, Kalei Jefferson of Clayton and Zachary Holmes of Durham.
The family will receive loved ones at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St., (Hwy. 55) Apex, NC from 10:00-11:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2010. Funeral Services will follow in the Chapel at 11:30. Interment will follow at Green Level Baptist Church Cemetery. The Reverend Dr. F. Belton Joyner, Jr. (Retired Assistant to the Bishop of the United Methodist Conference) of Bahama, NC will officiate. Dr. Joyner is a beloved friend and married Earl and Lynn 14 yrs. prior. Pastor Richard Leader, Green Level Baptist Church, will assist. Friends are asked to “celebrate” the life of Earl on this date.
