With deep gratitude for her life, we announce the passing of Deborah Faith Bruno into eternity with her Heavenly Father. Debbie passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025, surrounded by her immediate family, leaving behind a legacy defined by grace, hope, and unwavering devotion to Jesus and her loved ones.
Born on April 30, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York, Deborah was the eldest of three daughters born to the late Norman and Elva Blosat. She married her beloved Tony on April 3, 1974, with whom she shared 51 years of love, laughter, and enduring friendship. Their marriage was a reflection of mutual commitment and a bond deeply rooted in Christ Jesus.
Debbie and Tony’s many adventures took them from New York to California, to Kentucky, and finally to North Carolina, where they settled to be closer to family. Debbie worked hard to complete her education, and eventually had a very successful career in human resources and professional recruiting. Life took an unexpected turn in 1998 when Debbie was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. However with great courage and deep faith in God's plan, Debbie battled and overcame what could have been a death sentence. Her miraculous victory gave her both a testimony and a deep compassion that led her into years of ministry to others affected by the disease. Wherever she invested her efforts, be it as a long-time member of Southeast Christian Church or one of her ladies small groups, Debbie’s steadfastness, resilience, and hope were an inspiration to all who knew her. In recent years, she and Tony found great joy in being part of a bustling family life and helping nurture the most recent additions to their many grandnieces and grandnephews — Elva, Abby, Naomi, and James.
Deborah is survived by her beloved husband, Tony; her two sisters and their spouses, Norelle and Wayne Lutke, and Erica and David Burdine; her cousins, David Blosat, Suzie Abrahamsen, Linda Davidson, and Ingvor Gustafsson; 11 nieces and nephews; and 22 grandnieces and grandnephews.
Deborah radiated a quiet strength that anchored those around her with love, warmth, and unwavering faith. Her gentle presence and generous spirit left a lasting imprint on countless lives. She will be sorely missed until we are united again in eternity.
A memorial service will be held to honor her life at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W Williams St, Apex, NC 27502. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Deborah’s memory to Samaritan’s Purse, an organization she and Tony faithfully supported for many years. Samaritan’s Purse is a Christian international relief organization that provides aid to victims of war, poverty, famine, and disease.
