Dessie was born May 28, 1921 to the late Joseph Jackson Pleasants and Mamie Lee Esther Hinesley Pleasants. She was a faithful member of Merry Oaks Baptist Church. Dessie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Dessie was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Poe; and son, Bobby Poe.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Jordan, Debbie Hamann and Brenda Jean Gardner; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 2-3pm Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St, Apex, NC 27502. A graveside service will follow at 3:30pm at Merry Oaks Baptist Church Cemetery.
