Dorinda Elaine Lyon Cross

Dorinda Elaine Cross, 67, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on April 9, 2015. Born on October 30, 1947 in Durham County; she was the daughter of the late Will Henry Lyon and Dorothy Smith Cox.

Dorinda married Gerald “Wayne” Cross on March 26, 1967. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and members of her church family. In addition to her friends, she is lovingly remembered by her husband: Gerald “Wayne” Cross; daughter: Andrea J. Batten and husband Randy of New Hill, NC; grandchildren: Jessica Seal and husband Dwayne of Apex, NC, Steven Horton and wife Kaitlyn of Clayton, NC, Kirkland Dula of Hudson, NC, Emily, Jacob and Jonah Cross of Bremen, IN, Dilan Batten and fiancé Savanna West of Clayton, NC and Brittany Ellis and husband Justin of Archers Lodge, NC; one great-grandson: Ryan Ellis of Clayton, NC and the grand-pups; Dorinda's sweetest and dearest friend: Molly Sayre of Durham, NC; and by numerous other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son: Dwayne Houston Cross in October of 2008.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Faith Baptist Church in Apex, with family to receive friends following.
